The Busiest Time of Year

Hi, beauties and gentlemen!

It’s been a hectic few weeks for me! I’ve been consumed with high school graduations and our scholarship foundation, all fantastic responsibilities and commitments but time and labor intensive nonetheless.

June is one of the busiest months of the year for me but also one of the most rewarding times as well.

For those new to the blog, here’s a snippet about our scholarship fund – Early in my husband’s career, we had a dream to invest one million dollars into education. By the grace of God, we achieved that dream and have been going strong ever since. Each year, The Anquan and Dionne Boldin Scholarship Foundation awards four graduating seniors a scholarship to the university of their choice. We are in our 5th year of our scholarship foundation and currently have 15 kids attending college. Three have already graduated!

One of my greatest passions is serving our youth and helping children obtain a higher education. We focus on underprivileged kids because we believe that education is an essential part to breaking the cycle of poverty. Of all the projects we are involved in, the scholarship foundation happens to be my “baby”. I spend a good amount of time tracking our scholarship kids, keeping in touch with them, and being their main point of contact throughout the year. I really look forward to reading the essays the kids provide as a part of their scholarship application. I’m always in awe of the resilience and work ethic of these awesome students.

Working on Foundation goals is rewarding but the day to day of foundation work can be tiring, too. So, a few weeks back, I took a day off and headed to Palm Beach to the cutest boutique hotel, The Colony. I just needed a day of rest and relaxation and, of course, a bit of cute fashion.

I kept it light and whimsical with an embellished tee from Each X Other, cute denim shorts, Stella McCartney sneakers, and a rainbow Chanel boy bag.

A casual afternoon of sun and relaxation was food to my soul, and this re-energized me to focus on upcoming Foundation objectives. Balancing life can be tricky, but I believe the key to success has a lot to do with boundaries and self-care.

Readers, don’t be shy. Contact me and share your thoughts. Until next time!

Stylishly, Dionne
