I hope you had a fantastic weekend! As many of you know, Monday is the day I introduce a look or trend I enjoyed creating. Today, it’s all about the sequins.
If you have read any of my previous posts or follow me on Instagram, you know I’m a lover of sequins. If not, welcome, and consider this your formal introduction to my love of all things sparkly! I don’t think sequins are a bad idea, ever. In fact, when in doubt, say “yes” to sequins. Also, there isn’t an inappropriate time of day for this style, either. Go for it, day or night. Dress it up with pumps or a cute, strappy heel, or create a casual vibe with your favorite sneakers. Contrary to what many may think, sequins are extremely versatile.
This particular sequin/holographic look was from a few weeks ago at a Super Bowl fashion show, hosted by NFL wives. In a previous post, I mentioned my love for the Fall/Winter ’18 Balmain collection. So, this cropped jacket from that collection was a must-have for me. It wasn’t until three months after I purchased this jacket that I figured out what to do with it and where to wear it. Turns out, this jacket was the perfect match to a pair of L’agence denim already stashed away in my closet. Win-win!
The white top is Faith Connection, a piece I purchased on sale about a year ago. I purchased this with the intent of it being a staple piece that I would get a few wears out of. Fashion lovers – take advantage of out-of-season sales. I find some amazing staple pieces during these times.
For the finishing touches, I added a peek-a-book hologram-printed bodysuit from American Apparel and matching Balmain pumps.
I love mixing old and new items + high and low pieces! This look perhaps, is one of my favorites. So, what do you think? Are you going to venture out and wear some sequins anytime soon?
